What can I do now that I was not able to do a year ago

Coronavirus has modified and impacted many aspects of the globe, including global education. Because there are numerous things we can do now that we couldn't do a year ago, this transformation has both positive and bad effects. Many vocations that were previously thought to be inappropriate for remote work are increasingly becoming so, such as teaching. As instructors, we educate online using solutions such as Michrosoft Teams and Zoom. We used to teach face-to-face in schools, but today we work from home and teach our classes.

My Philosophy of Education

     Education is the process of facilitating learning or the acquisition of knowledge, skills ,values, morals and habits. It also means helping people to learn how to do things and support them to think about what they learn.  

     Today children are being forced to be educated by their parents to get professionally recognized. While education is extremely important for this purpose the aim of education is much more than this. Education main purpose is to develop a student into  a full , whole , successful person .Moreover ,it helps a person to achieve their goal and developing skills and abilities .Education aims are to bring out the best of the students inner personality .

 There are several ways of teaching. The most popular one is the source of internet anyone can benefit from. Also, cooperative learning encourage students to work together and share ideas, visualization examples using the interactive whiteboard to display photos and videos. Furthermore, keeping students motivated and engaged by giving them a competition based on what they learn.  Curriculum is the expectation for what will be taught and what students will do in a program of study. It includes teacher made materials, textbooks, goals for students learning, content, the order of learning materials, evaluation approaches, instruction methods.

  Teachers are a special blessing from God to us. To add, the success of education process depends not only on teacher but also on students .Teacher must be helpful , required to answer questions , preparing lessons regularly , giving homework and check it regularly in order to see where is the problem that faced any student and make meetings with parents in order to give them the feedback of their children .On the other hand , students attending class on time , being prepared for classes with all necessary supplies , pay attention in the class , taking notes and completing all homework assignment.

  Finally, education makes you a better person and teaches you various skill. Education is the key of opportunity and it’s a ticket for success. Also, it leads us to the right path and gives us a chance to have a wonderful life.

The Challenges That can Be Faced When Learning or Teaching Online

With the advent of online schooling in 2021, the educational landscape has shifted. Everyone assumed that when education initially went online because to covid19 constraints, it would be a one-time thing, yet here we are over a year and a half later, and schools are still operating online. The globe is still grappling with the pandemic's repercussions, and education will remain available online for the foreseeable future. In comparison to 2019, there has been fast online development and changes in how online education is offered.

Some Challenges That The Students Can Face While Learning Online:

1-Technical issues

2-Internet availability

3-The need for self-motivation

4-Distractions and time management

5-Lack of in-person interaction 

6-The need for self-confidence to engage and ask whatever they want

What Students Should Be Taught When Working Online To Avoid Problems.

 In order for online education to be faithful , useful and free from problems that some students may face teachers must teach students several things. Some of these things are:

1-Provide Resources to students: There’s lots of educational services out there, but not all of them are trustworthy. Research educational resources before recommending or using them to make sure others have had a positive experience from a security, online safety and privacy perspective.

2-Choosing the Right Applications: Many times school districts will have approved apps and platforms vetted for educational use. This is a great place to start when considering what platforms will be best for your students. Be careful when using non-educational tools as they may not have the necessary privacy settings to protect student data. Just because something exists in the app store, it doesn’t mean it’s safe. It’s important to be aware of potential risks with any free or paid platform.

3-Teach Students About User Privacy online: It is hard to maintain privacy online since we do not know who is handling our data and how secure the data is. For example, when seeking an essay writing service, one may give their details without reading the privacy terms of the website.

How to be Digital Citizen.

All instructors must be aware of the concept of digital citizenship. With students engaging in an increasing amount of online activity, we need to give them with clear instructions on acceptable practices when working online. We want our children to benefit from the many advantages that the internet and computers provide, but we also want them to be aware of the challenges and hazards. People should not only be good citizens in society, but they should also be good citizens online. Here are some rules for being a good digital citizen, for example: Respect differences, stop before responding, speak up for yourself and others, preserve your privacy, and be skeptical.

Tools that can be used in online assessment.

 There are many tools that can be used in online assessment  some examples of such tools are:

1-Google Form: its so beneficial for teachers and students. Teachers can create different quizzes and assessment using different type of questions such as : multiple choice questions, true/false questions, labels, short answer questions, long answer questions, drop line questions, multiple choice and checkbox questions. This video may help you to access and work on google forms.

2-Poll Every Where: teachers can use this tool to create questions as word clouds , multiple choices , open students responses, multiple choices, etc. This video will make you use this tool easily.

3-Mentimeter : teachers can use this tool to engage the students using live polls, word clouds ,quizzes multiple choice questions, listening skill assessment , etc. 

4-Word Wall: Teachers can choose different templates to create different quizzes and assessment such as: match up, true/false questions, labeled diagram, and many other templates. This video will show you how can you use Word Wall in the class.

5-Google Slides: Google slides: is a presentation product; it is quite similar to PowerPoint. It is free to use. It can be a powerful classroom tool for assessment. An assignment could be designed so that each student creates their own slides; once combined into one presentation, students can learn from each other. Or, small groups can collaborate on one slide presentation in real-time and then present their slides to the class, allowing for an engaging student presentation.

My opinion about integrating technology into teaching

The future belongs to technology. Today, nearly nothing can function without technology, and because everything in the world is being improved by modern technologies, education should follow suit. Technology has the potential to be a significant instrument for revolutionizing learning. It has the potential to strengthen and enhance connections between educators and students. It also enables instructors to create creative and engaging classrooms and provides access to cutting-edge materials. Effective instructors recognize the value of incorporating technology into the classroom and coming up with innovative methods to make teachings more relevant and simpler to learn. There are several advantages to employing technology in the classroom, such as increased student engagement, more effective teamwork, more engaging students, and the introduction of a fun manner of learning.

1-What I like in this course?

 We learn about many applications that were not familiar to us before, also we learn how we can benefit from them to explain the lessons, engage the students in the learning activities, and evaluate the learners. This would develop our skills and help us to be more successful and influential teachers.

2-What I wish was different?

 I feel that I have benefited from this course in many ways, and there is nothing I would have liked to be different.
